We're in the process of rebuilding this web site, bear with us as we add content and make a Web page that will truly match the grandeur of the Ludington State Park.
Being associated with the Ludington State Park, we have had some of the finest web sightings in the whole county. We've seen spider webs, caterpillar webs and some fall web-worm webs. So far no webs of intrigue, although some of the spider output is intriguing.
On a more serious note, we friends are not at all a part of the state organization. Instead, we function privately, as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, to promote the wise use and conservation of this park, one of the most beautiful state parks ever. In doing so, we also raise funds, through contributions and through sales of things like books and sweatshirts, so that we can contribute to park operation wherever things are needed that haven't been put in the state budget. (Generally contributions are tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor.)
We try to support and improve the park within the bounds of limits set up by the state. Our function is to enhance and promote the park operation. In doing so, we pass on suggestions made by visitors, coordinate some volunteer efforts, and sometimes help with changes to the facility.
We try to be a small, flexible organization that is able to be of help to the park management. We're glad the state tolerates us, but we think we're pretty tolerable.
Let us know what you think.
